Bess is an artist and mother of three. She is passionate about sharing her love of both art and science with children and adults of all ages, often combining the two in various projects and classes. She has taught high school biology, chemistry, and health and middle school special education, as well as Birthing from Within childbirth classes and Birth Art workshops. Bess holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and shows her work in local galleries and art shows.
Al has 39 years experience in large
scale systems engineering and
general/project management on
civil and military navigation,
surveillance, communications, and air traffic management systems. He Mentored two FIRST robotics teams, one of which placed second in the National Championship.
His background includes Physics, Mathematics, and Electrical, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering and is the founder of the UMass Band Parents Association (UMass Minuteman Marching Band). He created and maintained www.powerandclass.info, an information resource for band parents and members.
Currently a volunteer at Locke Middle School, Billerica, under the Northeastern University RESEED program. Mentored the 7th & 8th grade Robotics Team. The team was invited to participate in the VEX Robotics World Championship competition in Louisville, KY
Jackie has been teaching children
to dance for ten years at area
dance studios. She served as the
artistic director of Acton-Boxborough
Dance Center from 2006-2011 before opening her own studio, Dancing Arts Academy in 2011. Jackie also currently teaches dance and drama through Beyond the 4th Wall, an expressive youth theater company. Jackie has her Bachelors of Music in Education from UMass Amherst, is a licensed public school teacher in Massachusetts, and is very excited to share her love for the performing arts with the students at Lochness Playcenter!
Frances is an artist and mother of two
beautiful daughters, now in high school.
She lives and works in Chelmsford, MA,
where she loves to teach art to children
and adults of all ages. Frances fosters children’s natural creativity by teaching them fun, interesting projects and then giving them the space and support to create with their own voice. She holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in art and shows her work in local galleries.
Laura is mom to two high energy boys,
ages 5 and 6. She holds a bachelor's
degree in Christian education and is a
longtime lover of learning in non-classroom settings. She has worked at New England Camp Cedarbrook for 20 years, where she both teaches and trains others how to teach. Laura has extensive experience working with children, a passion for teaching, and a love of learning through play. Laura resides in Lowell with her husband, Steve, and two boys.
